O’DELL LAKES – Owner
O’Dell Lakes, owner and proprietor of Smith’s Jewelers, has worked in the jewelry industry since he was a senior in high school. Working his way up from stock boy to salesman to store manager, O’Dell finally purchased Smith’s Jewelers in 1970. With the exception of two years spent serving his country in the Army, the jewelry business is all O’Dell has ever known. And boy, does he know it!
O’Dell is respected not only in the business by his suppliers and competitors alike, but also by the community of Noblesville. Since 1970, O’Dell and his wife, Esther, and Smith’s Jewelers have been passionate about giving back to the community of Noblesville by sponsoring countless events, charities, and causes.
ESTHER LAKES – Owner
Esther Lakes has been a co-owner of Smith’s Jewelers since 1970. She is actively involved in keeping Smith’s Jewelers community focused. Esther serves Hamilton County through many different philanthropic organizations.
WILLARD G. NEW – General Repairs
Willard New’s knowledge of the jewelry business spans over five decades, and his experience is unparalleled in the industry. There is not an area of this business that he does not know. Willie has installed thousands of watch batteries in addition to appraisals, polishing work and minor watch repair. Willie tackles our most difficult repairs with ease.
BRIAN ROLL – Bench Jeweler
Master Jeweler Brian Roll’s personal experience spans more than 27 years with an intensive understanding of jewelry repair, manufacturing and design. His ability to custom cast and carve jewelry gives Smith’s Jewelers’ customers nearly endless possibilities. Brian practices our commitment to customer satisfaction with excellence in all of his jewelry design and repair work.
EMILY SILVEUS – GIA Diamond Graduate, Manager
Emily has been a part of the Smith’s Jewelers’ family her entire life. Her grandmother worked for the company for over 30 years, and recruited her when she was just 15 years old. After earning her bachelor’s degree in human resources at Indiana University, Emily returned to Smith’s Jewelers where she is enjoying a fulfilling career in an industry she loves. Emily is currently working on her Graduate Diamonds diploma through the Gemological Institute of America.
ERIKA PEARSON – GIA Diamonds Graduate, Appraiser and Sales Associate
Erika was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and moved to Noblesville, IN, in 1998. She began her career in Smith’s Jewelers part-time while attending Noblesville High School and continued to work for Smith’s through her college years. Erika earned a degree in speech pathology from Indiana University and is happy to be with Smith’s Jewelers full-time, fully living out her passion for the jewelry industry. Erika is working to become an Accredited Jewelry Professional with the Gemological Institute of America.
BRANDI MANN – GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional, Office Accountant and Sales Associate
A Noblesville native, Brandi followed in her grandmother’s footsteps and started her career at Smith’s Jewelers in 2006 after attending Ball State University. After a few years away in Missouri, Brandi was happy to again join the Smith’s Jewelers family in 2013. She is currently enrolled in the Gemological Institute of America’s Accredited Jewelry Professional program and is looking forward to advancing in a field that she loves.
ASHLEY HAMMOND – GIA Diamonds Graduate, Social Media and Website Manager
Ashley Hammond comes to Smith’s Jewelers from Decatur, IN. Ashley graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a double major in human resources and management and joined the Smith’s Jewelers team immediately following her graduation. Ashley earned her Graduate Diamonds diploma from the Gemological Institute of America. Recently, she moved to Denver, Colorado and now works remotely for Smith’s Jewelers. She is responsible for maintaining social media sites, blogs, newsletters and the store’s website.
DANIELLE WITT- Sales Associate
Danielle is a Noblesville High School graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree at Ball State University’s School of Business/Marketing. She is passionate about the community and the jewelry business. She worked for a large jewelry corporation in Cincinnati for six years. While there, serving customers was her top priority, earning her in top 5 sales for the company’s productivity. She and her family are happy to be back in Noblesville. Her husband is the head golf professional at The Bridgewater Club and her son attends Our Lady of Grace school. Danielle concentrates on customer satisfaction and service that Smith’s is well known for.
SUSAN THACKER BELL- Sales Associate
SALLY MEYER – Sales Associate
Sally was born and raised in downtown Noblesville and has worked at Smith’s Jewelers since she was 15. Recruited by her good friend Abigail, she started out, like most of the Smith’s girls, taking out the trash and filing appraisals. Now you can find Sally selling beautiful diamond pieces and designing advertisements for the store. When Sally is not working at Smith’s you can find her at Ball State University, where she is majoring in communications.
KALEY ORR – Stock Associate
Born and raised in Noblesville, Indiana Kaley has worked at Smith’s Jewelers since she was 2013. She is a recent graduate from Noblesville High School and plans to continue her education in the fall of 2015 at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis majoring in business. While in college, Kaley will continue working at Smith’s Jewelers part-time.
CHLOE FISHER – Stock Associate
Since Chloe was seven years old, she has dreamed of working at Smith’s Jewelers like her older sisters. Chloe has been part of the Smith’s Jewelers team since August 2014. Chloe was born in Noblesville and is currently attending Noblesville High School. When she is not working at Smith’s you can find Chloe running her own cupcake business or cheering in competitions.
MADDIE HENDERZAHS – Stock Associate
Maddie is the most recent addition to the Smith’s Jewelers family. Maddie, who is also from Noblesville, is currently attending Noblesville High School. She plans to attend Arizona State University after finishing high school in 2017. When Maddie is not working at Smith’s jewelers as a part-time stock associate she participates on the high school gymnastic team.
